My son is 3 years old and I smoke weed regularly. Never infront of him but i dont know whenever I see him after I smoke I just get a guilt trip like could this be affecting him? I dont think he understands that I smoke or knows. But i just get worried whether it will affect him.

Psychologically how you interact with your son as influenced by your smoking weed, or by your guilt feelings can affect your child, your attitude towards him being the direct reason, your secret being the reason behind the direct reason (hope I'm making sense here). Secondly, if you smoke weed before your child was conceived I think it'll affect his health maybe not overtly but it will ( I think).

Physically, probably not. If you do not smoke anywher within the vinicity of him, then there will be no contact buzz or second hand smoke. Now psychologically, he may be able to pick up on your guilt trip and wonder why you act different at certain times. He may be able to peice together that when you leave at a certain time and then come back, your attitude seems to change. He is only three though, but as he gets older he will 100% be able to pick up on what you are doing. You really may want to think about quitting very soon, especially for your sons sake.

I think that's a really selfish thing to do because one day he'll be grown up and say, Dad you were high the whole time I was growing up. It's going to make him feel insecure about himself or be mad about it, either way he'll find out eventually. Just like you'd know if your kid was high, he'll know when you're high. I found out my mom smoked weed to help her sleep and I yelled at her and cried because addiction has been in my family since forever and she was my hero. But now that she quit I've forgiven her and I'm over it. So you should just quit now to avoid feeling even more guilt and regret later.

Stevie, if you cannot stop then you are addicted. I am sure you know as well as I do that you are not setting a good example for your son. Have you thought about getting help/treatment?
