Does seeing addictive behavior in a movie or television show influence you and make you want to drink or use? For example there is a lot of depictions of shooting up in the movie "Ray" about Ray Charles.

I think it might... but only because it brings the addictive behavior to the front of your mind where you're thinking about it again. It probably depends partly on where you are in your recovery process.

it might be able to, especially in cases where you might not be aware of what you are doing or that you are addicted. Once you see it and relate to it and say to yourself am I really like that, you may decide that is not who you want to be.

What gets me is music, when I hear it I think about dancing and partying while getting drunk, it sounds so fun and then I'll want to go out that weekend..

If listening to a certain type of music makes you want to get drunk, then you probably shouldn't be listening to that music.  Most rap is all about drugs, alcohol, and sex.  The beat gets you all hyped up and makes you want to dance, it's fun to listen to, but if it's prompting you do become addicted, then you should listen to different types of music also, that might help you out.

I think once you watch the whole movie it could actually make you think twice about using. Like in the movie "Ray", do you remember the scene where he got caught, it could make you think twice about doing it so you doing get introuble, or when he goes through all those withdrawals but he knows he needs to quit and he does, I would definately not want to do it just so I dont have to feel the pain he felt.But if its movies like friday after next and stuff like that, that could get you to want to do it more.

I agree with LarryKing.. Just like how in some movies they may influence u to do it and make you start wanting to do it, in others it could influence you to stop and never go back. They could also teach you things.
