Coming out of addiction is like coming out of a railway tunnel, its dark and confined then as you break free the train leaves the tunnel and you are bathed in light and feel the freedom of your sourroundings

That's a nice analogy, sunshine! I'm a visual person, so the vision of coming out of a tunnel put the experience into focus for me.

Great way to look at it.Addiction is not something we are born with.It just happens as we go along ,but when we make up our mind to leave it behind us and move into the light ,there's not much that can stop us.All we need to do while we are within the tunnel is tell ourself that there is light on the other side waiting for us.All we need to do is to hold tight and keep moving .

Great comparison. As an addict I know I must constantly remind myself of all I have to look forward to in a life without drugs. The idea of freedom, especially of being free from drugs is one filled with hope and something I find myself hoping to experience.

That’s a great way of looking at it, it’s like you explode out the other side of the tunnel, you don’t realise that one second it’s all dark and in a flash that’s all behind you!

Yes, i agree i think thats a great way to look at an addiction, good job on coming up with it, it's all dark during the addiction and then it's light once you've recovered, i like it ;).

That’s a brilliant way to see things! Now when people ask me what it’s been like I can tell them that and hopefully they will understand better than my usual ramblings’!
