What do you think the main cause for a relapse is? I know there are many and various but I believe that
arguing small or ridiculous points of view indicate a need to always be right. Basically looking for an excuse to go back to using. - You pick a fight with a loved on on purpose

I also think that relapses can be caused by not focusing on what caused the addiction to begin with, and not taking out all elements that led to the addiction or helped the addiction grow.

the reason for a relapse would depend on the nature of disorder/addiction.For example if it's drugs or drinks then it could be caused when one gets the feeling that they are past the stage of addiction , but then there are other disorders like depression and Bipolar disorder which can relapse due to psychological condition.

Ego. Thinking that you are powerful enough to be able to use socially and not go back to addiction. When people have too much ego they think they can do anything and won't have the concequences. Also, I think when people don't get new friends and are still hanging out with users it's really hard to not relapse. You need to be around people who support you and don't use, even socially.
