It seems to me that we get so caught up in our day to day struggles with recovery that we forget to celebrate the seemingly small positive things we are doing or have done. Why wait for 30 or 60 days or a year to celebrate. Let's put more emphasis on making a big deal out of the small milestones. I think this will give many of us the much needed positive reinforcement to continue being succesful in recovery.

You have a very good point and I think that it could actually help people succeed in overcoming their problems if we "celebrated" or gave them some incentive to get to the smaller milestones.

This reminds me somewhat of potty training my daughter! We used stickers as a reward for positive reinforcement; and I think that all people respond to positive reinforcement of somekind.

So yes you are right, we should celebrate every day that we do well, even if it's only with a pat on the back.

celebrating life through recovery is a good way of showing gratitiude for everything that has been good in your recovery. You do not need to drink or anything that can lead you back to your addiction, there are many ways you can celebrate.
