At long last the smoking ban in the UK comes into force on July 1st, I never thought in my lifetime that this would come to pass .

Is this an incentive to give up, or better still an incentive not to start?

More like a good motivation not to start, if you're asking for my opinion. Quitting smoking is very hard, even if you can go to prison if you continue doing so. Anyway, what you have is good news. Finally one government had withstood the pressures imposed by the tobacco company.

We have some smoking restrictions and bans in the US too. What exactly is being banned in UK. Is it illegal to buy or cell tobacco? Or is there a ban on smoking in public places? I'm very intertested to see know how your country has handled this incredibly addictive drug.

Basically smoking is being banned in public places - eg. clubs, pubs, bars, anywhere that is considered an enclosed public space. This also includes company cars used by more than one person.

Here's the website about it:

Slowly slowly they will even ban drinking , let wait and see , any way the pubs will have a problem with sales, they will have to do some thing to work around this one
