I am a recovering alcoholic/drug addict. Lately I have been very depresssed due to some family problems. I don't think I've wanted to use or drink this bad in a long time. I am homebound due to disability and therefore cannot go to meetings. Sometimes writing on this forum helps but others it just seems like I'm rambling. I've though about suicide but am too much of a chicken to go through with it. If you have any suggestions I'm willing to listen. I hate feeling like this and want to find a way to be happy. If you can help I'd appreciate it.

Some people I've read on this site write in journals about the feelings their experiencing and it seems like it'd be helpful. I'm sorry you're feeling depressed, try talking to your close friend and family. Usually my family cheers me up when I feel lonely. I hope this helped you reitzel :))

Hey! I apreciate that you realised you have a problem ! Really that is a good start! Sorry for the problems you have in your familly, hope they will get better. I just want you to know that forums do help people a lot , they are a good place to start the recovery process , on forums you can find many people that have the same problems as you do and you will sure get a lot of help posting in forums. Just google all the forums for drug and alcohol addictions and spend your time there , about the suicidal part , come on .. you habe a wonderfull life ahead of you, allways have a positive attitude and hang in there .
