Nowdays there are a lot of people who are addicted to buying online stuff, in sites such as ebay, for example, they usually end up with huge debts on credit cards and everything, that is a problem!

Yep you are right, there are a lot of companies making a lot of money and it will only get worse. Never better anymore. With holidays the internet shopping makes it easier then fighting in the stores.

Yes, holidays are such a bad time for addicts, they always feel like buying, but it is a lot more intense when they see promotions from stores everywhere, like % OFF, that can make someone go crazy, really!

With online shopping, things are just made so much easier for people. With a click of a button, you can shop for anything from cars to clothes to toys to jewelry. This is a big risk for shopoholics and so many of them have fell victim to online shopping addiction. I think Ebay addicts are the worst. Not only are they addicted to shopping, but they also get addicting to the "high" of beating out other people in auctions and winning.

I was an addict for quite sometime on Ebay. I first started out there looking for some rare to find cds that I could not find anywhere else. Then it got to the point where I was bidding on anything and everything just to get that rush of winning something at a cheaper than retail price. But even though I was winning all kinds of bargains, I was putting myself in the poor house because I was winning and paying for several things daily. In order to stop I had to cancel my Paypal and Ebay account and never go back. There are times when I really want to be there still, but it has gotten much better over time.

I think Ebay is totally addictive, I used to buy from Ebay all the time too and if someone had outbid me then I would keep bidding even though the item was well over priced by now! People can become addicted to the thrill of winning something that someone else was trying to get and it can be a big problem. Nowadays I dont spend hardly anything on Ebay unless its for things I really need, but I do sell online and so I somehow have managed to turn it around. My dad is quite addicted and recently bought a BMW Z3 on Ebay, just because he had liked it but didnt think he would actually win it, when someone started bidding against him he then couldnt control it and won the car - needless to say my mum was not impressed bearing in mind he already has a brand new convertible that is more than enough

Ebay can be quite an evil site if you let it take control. The numbers of members are growing each day, and I read somewhere that the addiction rate is increasing. Ebay addicts are setting their alarms so that they can get up at 4 am just to be there for the last minute of auctions ending during that time , so that they can feel the rush of beating out their opponents and winning at the last minute.

If anyone thinks that may be addictied to Ebay, this is a neat test to take to find out. Heck, even Ebayers who don't think they have a problem should take it too:

Yeah, dunno how you can get a rush out of outbidding someone at the last second, you'll probably buy a $20 item at $40 with that kind of attitude.

Addicted to an auction, wow... things are getting crazier every day, I wonder if it can be linked to a gambling problem as well.

And on that test, answered No each time.

I think in a way it could possibly be related to a gambling problem. Both addiction survive off the high of the big win.

I never had a problem with internet shopping; however, I can see how it could become addictive. I don't have a credit card, or anyway to buy stuff online, so it's just as well, because I'd be a shopping addict for sure. I am always seeing something I'd love to have, and if I had any way to get it, I'd probably spend way too much money, which I couldn't spare. So I'm glad I don't have credit cards.
