A man in southern China died of exhaustion after a three-day Internet gaming binge, state media said Monday. The 30-year-old man fainted at a cyber cafe on Saturday afternoon after he had been playing games online for three days. Paramedics tried to revive him but failed and he was declared dead at the café. He may have died from exhaustion brought on by too many hours on the Internet.
The report did not say what the man, whose name was not given, was playing. The report said that about 100 other Web surfers "left the cafe in fear after witnessing the man's death."
China has 140 million Internet users, second only to the United States. It is one of the world's biggest markets for online games, and has tens of millions of players, many who sit down for hours in front of computers in public Internet cafes. Several cities have clinics to treat what psychiatrists have named "Internet addiction" in users, many of them are kids and teenagers, who play online games or surf the Web for days on end.

Well I read about this news in newspaper and nowadays this types of incident come out everyday where people died because of Gaming addiction. I think gaming addiction is very danger and teens spend more times there.

It is not an addiction at all. Often it is somebody trying to set some type of a record. They just want to do something they know they shouldn't but at the same time it is hardly some type of an addiction.

I am assuming this guy was playing for three days straight. That is a big problem, as your body needs time to rest and recooperate. But this is not the case with all people who play online and do limit thier time. I think only the person who is playing really knows if they are interferring with other aspects of their own life, thus making it an addiction.
