Chatroom - Addictive?

Chatroom - Addictive?

In my opinion, chatroom is addictive too. Though not that intensive in terms of effects, it could still eat up a lot of time in our day. There was one day when all i did was to stay in a chatroom and chat with people. I had lots of fun talking with people all around. Haven't talked with people in my surroundings in return. Not that bad though. But i am now trying to limit my time in chatrooms. How about you?

Yeah, I suppose it is. I remembered chatting to somebody I don't know for 2 straight hours. I am not so good at talking about my personal details but this man I'm chatting with had that way of making me. I never get to meet him though.

Chat rooms are very addictive. back when AOL first started and they were charging by the hour, yes long time before unlimited for low price, there were many people going into financial ruins because of their addiction to chatting online in chatrooms. They would have excessive bills. So yes chatrooms are very addicting especially for people who do not get out much.

I used to be addicted to chatrooms as well. It seemed as if I couldn't
get enough of them, but somehow they lost their luster for me overtime.
But yes, I used to spend easily some weekends 10 hours at a time in a
chat room, only to find out that I had just wasted my whole day.

I have stopped that practice now though.

I had problems with chat feature in Microsoft Game ZOne when it first came out, I used to be online up to 8 hours a day and when not felt that I was missing out on something, it took a good while to break the habit

I agree, chat rooms can be addictive. I don't have a compelling need to chat on them, but I do like popping in now and again on some sites that I visit. It is sometimes hard to leave, especially when there's an interesting conversation going on, but for myself it's not too much of a problem.

Yeah I use to spend alot of time in the chatroom which made my day go by so fast. I couldn't believe how much time I would spend. It was all about the experience for me when I was in chatrooms.

I completely agree with you about chatrooms being addictive. There was a time when I was hooked to chatrooms for most part of the day and found it extremely difficult to stay away from my online (chatroom) friends.I lost a lot of my time there and had to force myself to stay away from internet to get away from the chatrooms. Now,I don't frequent the chatrooms as regularly as I used to.Now I chat only with friends on my messenger list for fun and sometimes for work , but it definitely doesn't take precedence over my offline life.

Chatrooms are not addictive at all to me. Ignorant users frequent them, little children and people who just talk horribly. I am so glad that instant messaging programs have come around and you can CHOOSE who you want to talk to.

I think chatroom addictiveness can be a problem, but I also think it's easily recovered from, people change and move on to different things.
