Well if we put chatrooms into Internet addiction than we have to add one more type of site which called Social Network site where lots of people spend time and also share personal informations and other. This cause problems and last month we seen in India where a gorl killed by her Orkut friends because of on sided love.

I am not sure that social networks really qualify for me as an addiction place, unless you are spending most waking hours looking for a mate. So I guess you are right it could be for some people. I think that it is one way of some people to get social interaction.

You are right but I know few people who spend 5 to 6 hours on Orkut and some other social networkin websites like HI5 and others. I think this should be count as addiction.

I'm sorry to hear someone was killed and it had something to do with social networking sites. I would think that is more because of an obsessed person than from an addiction.

But there are some people who are on these sites everyday. Messaging back and forth to the point they may have some addictive habits forming.

In this murder Social Network site was Orkut and both are from same city Mumbai. Both meet on this community than fall into love but girl choose someone else after few days and that pesron killed here.

This really sounds drastic. I think that these so called Social Network sites should keep better track of who is on the site.

Yes these sites is better to tarck of who is on the site. Many teens join such a site to find a good girl and make a freindsheep but sometimes this things lead them to more addicted to these site.

Yes,many profiles posted on such networking sites are fictitious and when addresses and cell numbers get known ,it might lead to disastrous results in some cases.On Mylot I had once read a someone posting that her daughter was molested by one such an internet acquaintance .She posted that he is now serving his term ,butthat she lost trust from people browsing the networking sites.It's better to be cautious while exchanging information when in cyberspace.
