I mainly started because I was pushed into it. Everyone wanted me to try it and I did. Stupidest mistake of my life now, as it lead to marijuana and other drugs.

Stress mainly. Too many things were happening in my life and I needed a way to relieve some of the stress. I heard smoking does that so I tried it out. It actually worked and I was alot calmer from then on. Now I regret it though.

I thought I was so cool with a cig in my mouth struting to school. Oh yeah look at em I'm soooo cool I'm a smoker...hack...hack. I can't believe I would do that to myself. I was really good in sports and smoking basically destroyed it all, along with drugs and alcohol. But yeah I basically started because I thought it was the cool thing to do at 13.

Well started because my wife left me, so I decided to start smoking and well then it just came habit ,and even wores was I got into duges, it all most killed me.

All of the reasons listed here are very common reasons why people start. For many it is the middle school or high school that caused them to start because of peer pressure. But whatever the reason you started is, the key is to overcome the addiction and get started in the healing process and recovery.

I don't think my story is much different then many other people. My father smoked and I remember as a kid pretending my crayons were cigarettes, when I was a teen I was curious, did it and liked the initial buzz. Nobody told me the buzz wouldn't last.
