My husband has always had a strong sex drive. When he was younger like 7th grade he molested his sister. He went through intensive counseling and was released. Now he is 26 he has never done anything inappropriate like when he was younger, but he is obsessed with internet pornography. We had made a compromise that he could have videos but nothing with the internet. I keep catching him in lies about it. He said that he tries to stop but he just can't help it. I am afraid that this could get worse. We have two children 3 year old boy and 14 month girl. I am worried his past will come back. I don't know what to do or where to go. He says he'll get help but I don't know where to start. Am I being to cautious or do I have something to be concerned about?
If he will get help, encourage that. You could attend our 3-Day Intensive to jump-start his recovery. Most sex addicts don’t have desires for minors. However if he starts looking at child pornography you need to worry because this can go the wrong way. Whatever you reinforce in pornography or fantasy will be what you desire and eventually want to experience.
