My husband is addicted to porn. We have 5 children together, ages 13 – 3. We have been married for 16 years. I don't trust him therefore, we have no real relationship. I don't want a divorce. I want a husband and our children want a father. He is a good person with an addiction. What can I do?
It sounds like you want him to do all the changing. If you’re in a relationship you don’t trust, there may be some codependency issues or financial dependency or both. You might want to get financially independent if you aren’t already and go to a codependency support group then set some boundaries. You are permitting him to stay sick because you won’t grow up. When you see value in yourself you will set boundaries and then change happens. Otherwise you both get to complain about the other’s addiction.
