The rehab atmosphere often glamorizes the treatment, says Marty Brenner, an addiction specialist in Beverly Hills who has worked with celebrities. Lohan is not among them.
"They're not concentrating on recovery but on the media attention," he says. "What these celebrities really need is to be in an individualized program and getting their chemical imbalance straightened out — not telling the world."
Brenner says he predicted last week that Lohan would relapse. "When getting out of recovery, the mind-set has to change," he says. "It takes 30, 60, 90 days to get your mind-set back in order."
